Benjamin Williams

Lighting Designer, The Brobot Adventure

Benjamin is thrilled to make his debut at Kitchen Theatre Company with Darian Dauchan’s The Brobot Adventure. A NYC-based lighting designer, Benjamin has designed lighting for hundreds of plays, musicals, events, and installations throughout his career. His work has been featured with renowned companies such as Bedlam, Atlantic Theater Company, Berkshire Theatre Festival, Strange Sun Theater, The Irondale Ensemble, and American Stage Theater Company.

Benjamin also had the privilege of assisting award-winning lighting designer Justin Townsend at Commonwealth Shakespeare Company. In addition to his theatrical work, he has recently led production and design for a top-tier event production agency, with projects showcased nationwide at iconic venues like The Plaza Hotel, Paramount Studios, the Javits Center, and the acclaimed Field of Light installation in Manhattan.

Benjamin is also a Principal Consultant at Refinery Arts Group, an arts-based consulting firm dedicated to empowering the evolution of the arts and culture landscape. He serves as Vice President on the board of directors for Fresh Ground Pepper, NYC, an arts company devoted to creators, the creative spirit, and the creative process.

He holds an MFA in Theatrical Lighting Design from Brandeis University and is the recipient of the 2011 Boston Theatre Critics’ Elliot Norton Award for Outstanding Design, recognizing his lighting design for The Aliens, produced by The Huntington Theatre Company and Company One Theatre.
