VOLUNTEER
Ushering
Want to get involved at the Kitchen and see shows for free? Sign up to be an usher for one of our performances! Volunteer ushers scan tickets, pass out programs, direct patrons around our space, and help clean up after shows. Ushers are the hosts of the Kitchen community, making sure all our patrons feel welcome, safe, and cared for while at the theater. For more information or to add your name to our usher list, email Associate Producing Artistic Director Emily Jackson at emily@kitchentheatre.org. To sign up for shifts, visit kitchentheatre.org/usher.

Playwrights
Kitchen Theatre Company is committed to contributing to the field of American theater by producing new plays. KTC seeks plays that complement our mission of creating bold, intimate, and engaging theater. We generally produce full-length plays with character-driven narratives that start "important conversations." While we do plays of varying cast sizes, we are specifically looking for small (2-3 actors ideal, 5 actors max) pieces. Check out our production history to get a better sense of our work. Please send materials, including a short synopsis, character breakdown, and development history, to info@kitchentheatre.org.
PROFESSIONAL DEVELOPMENT PROGRAMS
Resident Professional Fellowship Program
Kitchen Theatre Company’s Resident Fellowship Program is committed to training future generations of theater professionals. At the Kitchen, the Fellows play a vital role in the production and administration process and are mentored by members of the staff. KTC Fellows have gone on to MFA programs and to professional theater careers throughout the United States. This program is on hiatus for the 2024-25 season.

Trainee Program
Young people ages 18-24 years of age with a high school diploma or equivalent are given first time work experience and knowledge on multiple disciplines of technical theatre and front of house activities. Successful applicants work 15-20 hours a week for an hourly wage, performing duties related to customer service, opening and closing the theatre, handling computerized ticket sales, lighting, sound, and other technical aspects of theatre. This program is on hiatus for the 2024-25 season.
